TO KNOW MORE

Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) is an evergreen, branched subshrub, 50 to 150cm high with erect branches, native to the Mediterranean region. The first references of Rosemary are found on cuneiform stone tablets as early as 5,000 B.C. This plant belongs to the family Lamiaceae and its name ‘rosemary’ derives from the Latin ros marinus (‘dew of the sea’). The leaves of Rosemary are linear, leathery, light green, somewhat rough on top and very fragrant. The flowers can be white, pink, purple or blue, and are born in the axils of leaves at the top of the branches.
