MARNYS® Ginger Essential Oil contains the chemotypes: α-zingiberene, β-sesquiphelandrene and β-bisabolene. Its colour and appearance is yellow, and it's got a fresh citrus flavour, properties that favour food taste.

MARNYS® Essential Ginger Oil is a food-grade oil widely used in gastronomy as a spice, although it comes in different forms ranging from its fresh variety to essential oil and caramelised ginger.

Its taste is strong and pungent, slightly sweet. As a suggestion, a rich and healthy purée can be prepared with fresh ginger, carrot, water, oil, salt and freshly ground black pepper.

TO KNOW MORE

Ginger, Zingiber officinale, belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and is grown in warm and humid tropical climates throughout South and Southeast Asia, China, Nigeria and Jamaica. The use of ginger in Europe counts on an ancient history and dates back to Greek and Roman times. It is mentioned in Indian Ayurveda and other religious scriptures dating back to 2,000 B.C., where it was recognised as an aid in digestion. The scientific term for Ginger comes from the Greek word 'zingiberis', which derives from the Sanskrit word 'shringavera', meaning 'deer-antler-shaped'. On the other hand, 'officinale' refers to the wellness properties of rhizomes.

The rhizome is the most widely used part of ginger and is commercially available, either peeled or unpeeled. It is reddish in colour with a very characteristic aromatic, spicy smell and taste.
