MARNYS® Ferrobine MAX is a source of iron in the form of bisglycinate, highly bioavailable and stable that contributes to the normal production of red blood cells and haemoglobin, and to the reduction of  tiredness and fatigue. This is an exclusive formulation combining Iron Bisglycinate, Zinc and B-complex vitamins in an innovative single-dose, drinkable vial format.

Iron Bisglycinate (chelated iron or iron chelate) is better tolerated at the gastrointestinal level than other solutions of iron, what makes it easier to meet the dosage regimen.

MARNYS® Ferrobine Max and its ingredients aim at strengthening the body due to:

  • Iron in the form of Ferrous Bisglycinate is water-soluble, stable in the gastrointestinal environment, being absorbed in different points of the small intestine (even in the presence of phytates), and its bioavailability increases in binding to the amino acid glycine, in addition to being better tolerated at the gastrointestinal level (EFSA 2006). 
  • Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, the oxygen transport within the body and to the normal cognitive function in the development of children, as well as to the reduction of fatigue and tiredness (EFSA).
  • Zinc contributes to the normal maintenance of eyesight, hair, nails and skin, to fertility and reproduction, as well as to the normal function of the immune system (EFSA).
  • The B-complex vitamins (EFSA) contribute to well-being because:
  • Vitamin B1 (thiamine) contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and heart.
  • Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) contributes to normal iron and energy-yielding metabolism, the maintenance of red blood cells and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

What is Ferrous Bisglycinate or Iron Bisglycinate?

Ferrous Bisglycinate (iron bisglycinate, chelated iron or iron chelate) is an excellent alternative to restore normal levels of iron in the body, as it provides a source of highly bioavailable and stable iron and enables the concomitant administration of other minerals, reducing competition for the site of absorption and chelation by other constituents in the diet. In addition, it is a safe and effective alternative, as it significantly reduces the adverse effects in the stomach produced by its inorganic salts, what favours adherence to therapy.

Why is iron in the form of Bisglycinate more bioavailable?

Ferrous bisglycinate is a form of iron presented as a more beneficial alternative compared to other forms of iron traditionally used, such as iron sulphate, because iron bisglycinate offers greater bioavailability and better tolerance.

This is because bisglycinate is a chemical combination of iron with two molecules of the amino acid glycine, creating a protective field around iron against external agents, such as oxidation, absorption inhibitors or interactions with the gastrointestinal epithelium.
