MARNYS® Circuven Plus contains a synergistic combination of Bilberry, vitamins C and E, B-complex, taurine, L-arginine, bitter orange, bioflavonoids, β-carotene and the minerals chromium, zinc and selenium which facilitate light legs.

MARNYS® Circuven Plus contains the most complete combination of ingredients for venotonic circulation on the market, being an excellent choice for adults who want to maintain normal circulation and function of blood vessels and heart, additionally protecting from oxidative damage.

The ingredients in MARNYS® Circuven Plus promote circulatory health due to the following properties:

  • Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) has been recognised as helpful for good blood circulation, reducing the feeling of heavy or tired legs, by EFSA ON HOLD 1297,2347, the Italian Ministry's list on botanical functional properties and the EMA monographs
  • The Bilberry in MARNYS® Circuven Plus guarantees a minimum anthocyanin content of 25%.
  • Vitamin C contributes to normal formation of collagen for the normal function of blood vessels and increases iron uptake. Vitamin C and Selenium contribute to normal function of the immune system (EFSA).
  • Thiamine (vitamin B1) contributes to normal cardiac function (EFSA).
  • The peel of Bitter Orange (Citrus aurantium) contains a great number of volatile substances, such as phenols and terpenes, being synephrine one of its most important active ingredients, which has got interesting properties. MARNYS® Circuven Plus has got Bitter Orange content standardised at 6% synephrine, which according to the Italian Ministry's list on botanical functional properties is useful in energy-yielding metabolism.
  • Riboflavin (B2) and Niacin (B3) contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to maintenance of mucous membranes. Moreover, Riboflavin contributes to normal maintenance of red blood cells (EFSA).
  • L-arginine is an amino acid that plays an important role in some metabolic pathways, such as that of nitric oxide. Dietary sources of arginine are fish, shellfish, beef liver, peas, lentils, and others.
  • Chromium contributes to maintenance of normal blood glucose concentrations (EFSA).
  • Zinc contributes to fatty acid metabolism and protein production. Zinc also contributes to normal metabolism of vitamin A (EFSA).
  • Taurine is an amino acid that can be obtained through dietary sources (like poultry, beef, pork, or seafood) or produced in the body through the amino acids methionine and cysteine. It is produced in the liver and is involved with calcium activity.
  • The β-carotenes in MARNYS® Circuven Plus are equivalent to 1mg vitamin A and are pigments found in plants (for example carrots), and are excellent precursor sources of vitamin A.
  • Vitamin E and Selenium contribute to cellular protection from oxidative damage (EFSA).
  • Citrus Bioflavonoids are polyphenolic compounds from citrus botanical sources, which stand out because they exert antioxidant activity in vitro. MARNYS® Circuven Plus has got in Citrus Bioflavonoids a minimum flavonoid content of 60%, calculated as hesperidin.

What is Bilberry?

Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), commonly called whortleberry or European blueberry, is a shrub-like plant of the family Ericaceae that produces small edible berries. This is an evergreen, 1m high plant whose fruits are blue-black or purple and differs from the American blueberry in the flesh of the fruit, which is purple, rather than cream or white.

The history of use of Bilberry for health purposes dates back to the Middle Ages, but it was not widely known to herbalists until the 16th century. It is currently the subject of intense research because of its usefulness in vascular health. The bioactive constituents of Bilberry include anthocyanoside flavonoids (anthocyanins), vitamins, sugars and pectins.
