We bring together nature and science to take care of you

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan is based on several pillars: sustainable development, environmental conservation, dedication to our environment and social causes, and the development of our team.

All the staff of Martínez Nieto S.A. - MARNYS® is a strategic asset that we take care of and offer a working environment where we try to promote personal development. We work to attract and retain talent and promote growth and quality of life. We collaborate with universities such as UPCT and UCAM to promote knowledge and training of talent, through various teaching programmes.

We also contribute to the development of the environment, with social commitment and solidarity being one of our main ethical values. Similarly, dedication to sport is another of our pillars, as is the conservation of the environment, through our Sustainable Development programme, which is a priority and the true heart of our business project.

Nature is the heart of MARNYS

Nature is the heart of our business project and our main source of resources. For this reason, we are aware of the preservation and protection duty.

We take responsibility and commitment to work helping reduce our environmental footprint. In this regard, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, we have implemented a Sustainable Development program with a series of actions aimed at reducing waste and emissions, preserving water and energy, recycling materials and enhancing preservation efforts.

For this purpose, one of the projects implemented in 2019 is the installation of a solar power system, the largest self consumption system to date in the Region of Murcia (Spain). In terms of energy saving and promotion of sustainable practices, this system will be able to approximately generate 1,250,000 Kwh/year, which entails avoiding an annual emission of 440 tons CO2 into the atmosphere, equivalent to the amount CO2 absorbed by a forest comprised of 14,500 trees. In addition, this will be a system without discharge into the power grid, so 100% of the energy generated by the solar power system will be consumed within the company.

Since 2020 our facilities have the Class A Energy Efficiency Certificate, which is the highest level on the Class A Energy Rating Scale for construction.

Our fleet of corporate cars are hybrid vehicles, which optimize energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

MARNYS® packaging is made from recyclable paper from sustainably managed forests, recycled and controllable sources with PEFC and FSC Spain certifications.

Our offices have ECOEMBRES recycling points for the selective collection of light packaging, paper and board and waste batteries, as well as the implementation of other paper reduction measures, packaging material with PEFC and FSC Spain certifications and savings in water and energy consumption.

The access door to the offices and reception have an air curtain which allows a more hygienic, healthy, and energy-efficient workspace. Also, we work with eco-friendly printers, with toners that minimize environmental impact using heavy metal-free inks.

Likewise, we are reducing and limiting the use of plastic bags. That is why our corporate MARNYS® bag is made of natural jute, a vegetal fabric environmentally friendly and reusable.

We comply with the German VerpackG Packaging recovery and recycling regulation that entered into force on 1st January 2019, ensuring:
  • Recycling and reuse of packaging and transport material.
  • Reducing the production of greenhouse gases.
  • The control of waste management.

Committed to people

Contributing to the development of our environment and community is more than a social commitment, is one of our main ethic values.

Thus, we work with national and regional associations, such us “Fundación Adecco” and “ASTUS”, dedicated to the integration of people with disabilities; “ASTRADE Association” to care people with autism, different NGOs such us “Cáritas”, Spanish Red Cross, “Hospitalidad Santa Teresa”, “Hogar el Buen Samaritano Association” o “Hermanitas de los Pobres”, whom we make annual donations. We also collaborate with ad hoc solidarity initiatives like the collection for those affected by the Cut off low bringing heavy precipitation over Eastern Spain on September 2019, or the donation of health protection material to our Regional health care system, during the pandemic by Covid-19.

  • Regular donations to NGOs.
  • Sponsorship, collaboration, or participation in sport events with solidarity purposes.
  • Training internships for social inclusion in collaboration with Spanish Red Cross.

Pursue your goals

The commitment to sport is another of our pillars, being our work recognized especially in the Region of Murcia, as we are one of the official sponsors of the most important sporting events in our region.
