MARNYS® Pine Essential Oil is 100% pure and chemotyped, that is, it has got a defined composition and is 100% of natural origin. Pine oil has been obtained by steam distillation and has not been denatured or mixed with other oils, what ensures the properties of the essential oil.

MARNYS® Pine Essential Oil contains the chemotypes: α-pinene, β-pinene, δ3-carene. Its colour and appearance is light yellow and it's got a fresh, coniferous camphorated flavour, properties that favour food taste.

MARNYS® Spanish Sage Essential Oil is a food-grade oil. Pine essential oil is well known in Nordic cultures and is often used in bread making. In the Mediterranean culture it is less known, but its use is becoming more widespread little by little.

There is a tasty recipe for Pine Crumbs by chef Yelel Cañas, who crushes the pine leaves (previously bleached), adds breadcrumbs, sautées this in garlic and olive oil, carefully browning everything until it gets crispy.

TO KNOW MORE

Pinus sylvestris is an evergreen conifer tree that grows up to 35m high and 1m in trunk diameter when mature, exceptionally over 45m high and 1.7m in trunk diameter in very productive areas. The tallest pine on record is a tree over 210 years old that grows in Estonia and reaches no less than 46.6m. The Scots pine is the only native pine tree in Northern Europe.

The bark of the pine tree is thick, scaly and dark grey-brown at the bottom of the trunk, and thin, scaly and orange at the top of the trunk and branches. In mature Pine trees, the leaves (‘needles’) are light green to blue-green, often darker green to dark yellowish-green in winter. The duration of leaves varies from two to four years in warmer climates, and up to nine years in subarctic regions. Pine cones are spherical, red during pollination, then pale brown. They are flat to pyramidal in shape and the seeds are blackish with a pale brown stripe, and are released when the pine cones open in spring.
