Eucalyptus citriodora (Myrtaceae family) is a tree that grows up to 35m high and comes from the temperate and tropical northeast of Australia. It's also known as lemon-scented gum, blue-spotted gum, lemon eucalyptus and eucalyptus citriodora.
The Lemon Eucalyptus tree has got a smooth, pale, uniform or slightly mottled bark. This is white to coppery in summer and its rounded leaves, when young, eventually adopt a lanceolate (spearhead) shape and give off a lemon scent when rubbed. Lemon Eucalyptus prefers light, slightly acidic and loamy soils and is found in dry forests and hill forests. This tree plays an important role in the production of bee honey.
