MARNYS® Fennel Essential Oil is 100% pure and chemotyped, that is, it has got a defined composition and is 100% of natural origin. Fennel oil has been obtained by steam distillation and has not been denatured or mixed with other oils, what ensures the properties of the essential oil.

MARNYS® Fennel Essential Oil contains the chemotypes: Tr-anethol, d-limonene. Its colour and appearance range from pale yellow to yellow, and it's got a spicy, fresh and herbaceous flavour, properties that favour food taste.

MARNYS® Fennel Essential Oil is a food-grade oil and it is used in different gastronomic preparations as a powerful flavouring due to its pleasant taste, which, alongside its digestive properties, make it something essential for salads, desserts and juices. Dare to prepare a tasty Hake with Fennel and tender garlic sauce whose ingredients are: slices of hake, wild asparagus, Fennel, green onion, spring onion, liquid cream, milk, black pepper, paprika (hot or sweet according to taste), chopped almonds, freshly grated ginger, salt and olive oil.

Fennel, Foeniculum vulgare dulce, is an aromatic plant. It's up to 250cm high and belongs to the family Umbelliferae. Its colour ranges from green to green sea and it has got a strong spicy smell. The Fennel stem is erect, round, smooth and full of latex. The lower leaves are petiolate and count on long pods, and their fruit is 4-10mm long, half as wide or less, and ribbed. Because the seed of the Fennel fruit is strongly attached to it, the whole fruit is often mistakenly called "seed".

Fennel is native to the Mediterranean region and has spread to UK and Germany, among others. The Greek word for Fennel is marathon or marathos, and derives from the place where the famous battle of Marathon occurred, that is, a plain full of Fennel. The first reports about Fennel refer to its use in Egypt over 3,000 years ago for bad digestion, which is included in the monographs by German Commission E. Fennel has got a mild aniseed-flavoured taste and scent due to its aromatic compounds, and is used as a spice in sweets and spirits.

They are small and very easy to swallow. If you want all the benefits of garlic without the discomfort of its taste, these capsules are one of the best solutions.

I chose it for its high content of concentrated garlic oil. Because of its many properties, garlic is recognised as an excellent food.

I love it, it gives a complex flavour with a hint of liquorice. I use it a lot in herbal teas and they are very good for me.

I use it quite a lot, I like the “Mediterranean” flavour it brings to meals, I usually add 1-2 drops to meat and main dishes to bring a fresh herbal flavour.
