PROPERTIES

The ANTI-POLLUTION EXTREME formula combines the synergistic action of White Horehound, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) and Glycogen to fight oxidative free radicals and protect the skin from environmental, digital pollution and accelerated ageing.

  • White horehound contains a wide range of phytochemical compounds such as flavonoids and terpenoids with anti-pollution, antioxidant, soothing and skin-protecting properties.
  • Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) is an excellent anti-pollution agent due to its ability to protect cells from common air contaminants. It also has anti-ageing properties and acts as a modulator of hyperpigmentation.
  • Glycogen facilitates the repair and protection of cells when exposed to stress factors such as ultraviolet (UV) and blue light (HEV).

What is digital pollution?

The term 'digital pollution'  in relation to the skin refers to the kind of pollution from electronic device emissions, blue light from screens, etc. that affect skin health and are one of the factors that cause accelerated ageing.

External factors that are usually related to premature skin ageing are environmental pollution and sunlight. But in addition to these, there are others that we are exposed to on a daily basis, such as electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and blue light or high-energy visible light (HEV) that we receive on our skin from devices such as WIFI or Bluetooth, mobile phone screens, tablets, computers, etc.

How does digital pollution affect premature ageing?

This 'digital pollution' has consequences on the skin, such as a huge increase in the production of free radicals (ROS) and structure-modifying factors, a decrease in cell regeneration, a reduction in structural proteins in the epidermis, an increase in transepidermal water loss, a loss of skin "radiance" making it drier and rougher, the formation of wrinkles and the appearance of spots.

How does digital pollution affect the appearance of skin spots?

Skin pigmentation also changes when it is subjected to radiation from electromagnetic devices or blue light. Melanin and melanocytes play a key role in skin pigmentation. Studies have shown that after reaching the age of 30, a person will lose approximately 10% to 20% of epidermal melanocytes every decade, which can be accelerated depending on the amount of oxidative stress affecting the surface of the skin.

Which electronic devices give off blue light?

Blue light is one of the components of light. It is a natural radiation, in fact sunlight contains blue light and it is important because it plays a key role in our neuro processes. The problem lies in the blue light emitted by the devices around us and the time of direct exposure to that blue light, which in our lifestyle is between 5-12 hours. The amount of blue light received by the eye from the rays of the sun is around 30%, while LED lights and electronic devices between 25-40% and the incandescent bulbs between 3-4%.

Devices that emit blue light include cell phones, smartphones, tablets, computers, monitors, televisions, lamps, information boards and LED bulbs.

  1. Andrea

They are a bit watery but the result is convincing. I find it very interesting that there is a product to protect the skin of the face from the effects of screens. As I sit in front of the computer all day long and am surrounded by screens, I noticed that my skin was getting worse and worse. I will continue to use them, as the low price enables you to use it every day.
