Obtaining Cannabidiol formulations and process improvement through the use of green extraction techniques and valorization of the by-product

Technical objectives of the project:

  • Development and application of a new green extraction method, completely or partially eliminating the use of organic solvents, for the production of extracts with a high percentage of cannabidiol (CBD) suitable for use in the cosmetics industry.
  • Development from the CBD obtained through a green extraction method, of a modified release CBD that provides beneficial effects for its incorporation into new cosmetic products.
  • Development of a line of new BIO cosmetic formulations with modified release CBD from the CBD-rich extract.
  • Total valorization of industrial hemp, aiming for circularity and therefore sustainability of the new process: development of by-product conditioning processes.
