MARNYS rewards winners of the XVIII Intercenter Chess Tournament
- As part of the 'Play Thinking with MARNYS' project, the company wanted to reward the winners' effort with a bundle of products.
- The annual competition, organized by IES Los Molinos, gathered more than 250 students from across the Region of Murcia.
The laboratory of natural dietary supplements and cosmetics, MARNYS® - Martínez Nieto S.A., continues its commitment to the education sector by collaborating once again in the Intercenter Chess Tournament organized by IES Los Molinos in Cartagena, now in its 18th edition.
More than 250 students from a total of twenty-seven educational centers across the Region of Murcia participated on the 21st and 22nd of February, surpassing previous years' participation and achieving one of the highest turnouts to date.
The company presented the winners of the three categories with a bundle of MARNYS® products, handed over by Lourdes López, the company's CSR manager.
This initiative is part of the 'Play Thinking with MARNYS' project, promoted by the laboratory in collaboration with Ajedrez Lapuerta Chess Club, with the main aim of promoting the recreational aspect of education and reducing levels of absenteeism, failure, and dropout rates in schools.
"Play Thinking with MARNYS" already has over 7,000 students and continues to attract more schools
The project, which was launched last year in 2022 and is supported by the Educational Department of the Cartagena City Council and the Regional Department of Education in Murcia, already has over 7,000 students from 39 schools across the region.
Under the slogan 'Checkmate to school failure', MARNYS® provides the necessary materials for chess practice, in addition to collaborating in tournaments and competitions. 'Play Thinking with MARNYS' is part of the MARNYS TALENT corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which encompasses the company's initiatives in education, personal and professional development, aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 - Quality Education.
