MARNYS, Official Partner of "LOLA, LOLITA, LOLAZA," the Animated Short Film by Mabel Lozano about Breast Cancer

  • With plenty of humor, love, and wit, the director tells her personal journey with a chickpea-sized breast cancer in her left "Lola."
  • The short film is produced in collaboration with Chelo Loureiro, an animation reference, and has the support of the Spanish Association Against Cancer to raise awareness and normalize the social and emotional reality of breast cancer.

MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A., the specialist laboratory in dietary supplements and natural cosmetics, is the official partner of the new short film by director Mabel Lozano, LOLA, LOLITA, LOLAZA.

The animated film tells, in first person and with plenty of humor, love, and wit, her journey with a chickpea-sized breast cancer in her left "Lola." But this is not only Mabel's story, it is also the story of millions of women around the world.

As the director, a two-time Goya Award winner for Best Documentary Short Film (Biography of a Female Corpse and Ava), explains: "When I was little, in my small town in Toledo, my mum used to whisper to me, pointing at a middle-aged woman, 'Look, that poor lady has breast cancer, but her family doesn't want to say it.' I remember asking my mum, also whispering, if they didn't say it because cancer was contagious. Loud and clear, I have had breast cancer, and yes, it's true that humor doesn't cure, but it helps, it really does."

The short film is produced in collaboration with Chelo Loureiro, one of Spain's most important animation producers, who has four Goya Awards to her name, two for Best Animated Feature (Valentina and Unicorn Wars) and two for Best Animated Short Film (Decorado and To Bird or Not To Bird).

One in every two men and one in every three women will have cancer at some point in their lives

The Spanish Association Against Cancer has launched the initiative "Todos Contra el Cáncer" (Everyone Against Cancer), a social movement that seeks to involve individuals, companies, and institutions in the fight against cancer. It has been declared an event of exceptional public interest (AEIP) by the Spanish Government. As part of its outreach efforts, the film LOLA, LOLITA, LOLAZA is a magnificent tool for overcoming fear and normalizing the social and emotional reality of breast cancer.

LOLA, LOLITA, LOLAZA is a production by Abano, Secuoya Studios, and Mafalda Entertainment SL, with the support of the Community of Madrid, the Spanish Association Against Cancer, Novartis, and MARNYS.

Through the MARNYS HEALTHY CSR program, the Cartagena-based company carries out various actions aimed at promoting health and well-being, fostering sports, and encouraging healthy lifestyles.
