MARNYS Marks the Solidarity Company Checkbox
- We join this initiative promoted by the Third Sector platform, which could allocate up to 186 million euros for social purposes.
- It is included in the Corporate Tax, which is filed from 1 to 25 July 2022, and represents allocating 0.7% of the proceeds to social interest projects.
The natural dietary supplements and cosmetics laboratory MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A.has already joined the initiative promoted by the Third Sector platform to mark the Solidarity Company Checkbox of Corporate Tax, which is filed from 1 to 25 July 2022, destined to finance social interest projects.
Checking this box means allocating 0.7% of the proceeds to social interest projects. With this decision, the company will generate a positive impact on society to contribute to a more just, equal, and sustainable social transformation.
This action is part of the 'MARNYS COMMUNITY' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which encompasses other MARNYS initiatives aimed at promoting equal opportunities, socio-labor integration, and support for disadvantaged groups.
As highlighted by Roberto Martínez, CEO of MARNYS, "The involvement of the business sector is essential in the fight against inequality, poverty, and the exclusion of vulnerable groups. At MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A., our goal is to work towards improving the society we live in, especially our local community, and be an example of promoting equal opportunities and solidarity."
186 Million for Social Purposes
A total of 186 million euros is the estimated amount that could be raised in this fiscal year if all companies subject to this tax in Spain checked the Solidarity Company Checkbox.
The funds raised are intended to finance social and environmental projects to combat inequalities, poverty, and social exclusion. For example, projects involving social and health care, eco-social impact, promotion of health and independent living, community inclusion, fight against discrimination, educational and training needs coverage, promotion of job integration, promotion of public safety and crime prevention, promotion of equal treatment, prevention of violence, protection of victims, promotion and defense of rights, among others, are funded.
Company and Positive Impact
This measure, which was initiated by the Third Sector Platform, has been in place since the 2018 tax period and has since provided a much-needed injection of funds to support the 12.5 million people who are victims of poverty or social exclusion, accounting for 26.4% of the Spanish population.
In 2018, the amount raised exceeded 24 million euros, an amount that has increased in subsequent years, reaching a total of 33 and 36.6 million euros in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
In 2022, the Solidarity Company Checkbox can be checked during the Corporate Tax filing period, from 1 to 25 July, and is currently available in two models of this tax: Model 200 and Model 220.
It is included in the "other characters - social purposes" section, specifically in box 00073 (within Model 200) or box 069 (within Model 220).
