MARNYS helps sending humanitarian aid to Ukraine

The laboratory has helped to finance the second convoy of the NGO 'SOS Ayuda sin Fronteras', which has already successfully completed its solidarity trip.
In addition, in March, the company carried out a campaign for financial donations and the collection of emergency aid for Ukrainian families.

MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A. has collaborated with the financing of the II convoy of humanitarian aid to Ukraine of the NGO 'SOS Ayuda sin Fronteras'.

The solidarity expedition departed last Sunday, May 8th, with a total of eight vehicles, four of them leaving from Seville, one from Cáceres, and three from Cartagena, with about 25 volunteers on board, including doctors, social workers, firemen, policemen and translators.

The convoy arrived on Thursday 12 May at the border between Ukraine and Poland where they distributed humanitarian aid to families who have been cut off in the conflict zones. After travelling more than 2,200 km, they have finally returned to Spain with around twenty refugees for whom they have already found accommodation in different cities in our country.

This is the second expedition organised by the NGO SOS Ayuda Sin Fronteras, whose spokesman, Pedro Cerezuela, explained that "these trips are only possible thanks to the generosity of companies such as MARNYS, and of many individuals, who have given their support to this cause".

Urgent aid collection for Ukraine

MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A. already carried out in March a solidarity campaign of urgent help for the Ukrainian community. The company and its collaborators provided necessity products, clothes and economic donations. The proceeds were handed over to the Cartagena municipality to be delivered in an organised way to the Ukrainian families.

These solidarity actions are part of the social commitment of the food supplements and natural cosmetics laboratory, which regularly supports causes and solidarity initiatives, such as the aid for those affected by the La Palma volcano, the donation of health protection material during the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic, or the collections for those affected by the DANA in September 2019.

MARNYS' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan includes the 'MARNYS COMMUNITY' programme, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aimed at supporting the most disadvantaged, solidarity actions and alliances for peace.
