MARNYS – Martínez Nieto, S.A. has published its Sustainability Report for the 2020 financial year. In a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, this report reflects the company's commitment to health and wellbeing, as well as the different social and environmental actions carried out during 2020.
As Roberto Martínez, CEO of MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A. points out: "the social and economic consequences of the pandemic have tested our ability to adapt and overcome. That is why, in this Sustainability Report 2020, we wanted to reflect the importance of our commitment to health and wellbeing, and we confirmed that Martínez Nieto S.A. is a strong company, with a great team of resilient and persevering people who know how to face adversity and emerge stronger".
This document, published by the food supplements and natural cosmetics laboratory in 2019, has been drawn up in accordance with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) 2016 standards, the international benchmark institution for the preparation of sustainability reports.
MARNYS' main achievements in 2020 include increased investment in R+D+i. It helps reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainable production by renewing certifications and implementing actions for a more efficient use of natural resources. Among other measures, this is achieved through the calculation and compensation of the carbon footprint.
The 2020 Sustainability Report also focuses on MARNYS' commitment to science and innovation through collaboration agreements with universities and research chairs. It also highlights its social commitment to diversity, the integration of people with special needs, exceeding the 2% established by law, as well as its commitment to local talent.
Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals
The document, which is part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan, reflects the considerable progress made in the actions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For example, the commitment to health and wellbeing is one of the organisation's main lines of action. Thus, they have continued to work to promote sport and healthy habits through different sponsorships and collaborations with local sports clubs, in women's, men's and children's categories, with the aim of helping to encourage the practice of sport from an early age.
A sustainable future
MARNYS - Martínez Nieto S.A. also sets out its approach for upcoming years. It does so through six projects that guide its Social Responsibility Plan and are focused on quality, talent, health, commitment to the community, sustainability, and the planet.
