Omegas (polyunsaturated fatty acids) are very important as a regulator of the functions of the brain, heart, membrane, retina, liver, kidneys, skin, mucous membranes and so on. They are therefore essential for the maintenance of health.

Among the polyunsaturated fatty acids we find two essential fatty acids that are necessary for the metabolic processes of the body and that the organism cannot produce and must be provided in the diet: linoleic acid (omega 6 series) and linolenic acid (omega 3 series). Within the omega-3 fatty acids, DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) are so important that the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) and the American Heart Association recommend a daily intake of 250-500 mg of EPA + DHA.
